Open Edit and use Review to replay uncertain words and possible gaps. Regenerate captions runs another on-device pass tuned for difficult speech, singing, and distant voices. Recognition still depends on the recording, language model, and performance, so use Add text for any remaining gap.

Move the playhead to the empty moment and choose Add text, or tap an empty area in the caption timeline. Enter the text, then adjust its start and end time. Manually added captions are preserved when automatic captions are regenerated.

Caption generation, editing, styling, and preview tools are available free. Free video exports are approximately 720p and include a LocalCap watermark. Both the $2.99 monthly plan and $59.99 lifetime purchase unlock full-resolution video exports and remove the watermark.

Open the LocalCap Pro screen and choose Restore Purchases while signed into the Apple Account used for the monthly plan or lifetime purchase. Purchasing, subscribing, and restoring require an internet connection to Apple. There is no LocalCap account or separate password.

LocalCap Pro Monthly renews each month until canceled. Manage or cancel it through your Apple Account subscription settings. Canceling stops future renewals; Pro access continues through the current paid period. The $59.99 lifetime choice is a separate one-time purchase.

Keep LocalCap open during the export, confirm the iPhone has enough free storage, and try the export again. If it repeatedly fails, note the video length, resolution, orientation, and the point where it stopped before contacting support. You do not need to send the private video itself.

Caption generation, editing, preview, and export work on device after Apple’s speech model for the selected language is installed. The initial model download, Pro purchase, and Restore Purchases may require internet access to Apple.

No. LocalCap has no developer-operated media server, analytics SDK, advertising system, or account service. Files leave the app only when you choose to save or share an export through Apple’s system tools.

LocalCap 1.0 is designed for iPhone and requires iOS 26 or later. Available caption languages depend on the on-device speech models Apple supports for your iPhone and software version.

Delete an individual project when you no longer need it, or use Delete All Local Data to remove projects, caption preferences, app-managed working media, and LocalCap temporary exports. This does not cancel a monthly plan or remove a lifetime purchase. Exported copies remain in Photos, Files, or other destinations until you delete them there. Removing LocalCap from the iPhone also removes its app-managed data.
